18 November update: Binding study recommendation

18 November 2020

The Executive Board has issued a proposed decision to suspend the binding study recommendation (BSA) for first-year students in the 2020-2021 academic year. The decision will be put to the Avans Joint Consultative Council for approval.

Despite the pandemic, our educational activities have continued to the greatest degree possible, and this will continue to be the case going forward. Nevertheless, delays are inevitable for some study programmes and students. First-year students who do not meet the BSA standard in the 2020-2021 academic year will have the opportunity to meet the standard prior to the end of their second academic year (no later than 31-8-2022).

Last academic year, the Executive Board decided to suspend the BSA requirement for first-year students until 31 August 2021. This suspension will not change, and will remain in effect until 31-08-2021. This new (proposed) decision only applies to current first-year students in the 2020-2021 academic year.
