Update 16 December: Studying and working on campus, borrowing books and IT support

Exams at external locations

The exams planned in January at Brabanthallen and Breepark can go ahead as scheduled. We have now received confirmation of this from both venues. The exam timetable therefore remains unchanged.

Studying and working on campus

Students who are not able to study effectively at home due to personal circumstances will still be welcome at Avans. However, they will need to discuss this first with their contact at the department, their study development counsellor or their student counsellor. They will then be given permission to study in Xplora. The study development counsellor or student counsellor will inform the manager of the building by email (with a copy to the student) that the student will be studying there.

Staff members who are unable to work from home will be able to work in one of the Avans buildings, subject to approval by their Board. The Board will inform the manager of the building by email (with a copy to the staff member).

Below you can read which buildings will be open for this purpose, along with the corresponding email addresses.

Opening times for the buildings

In week 52 and 53 (21 December to 3 January), all Avans buildings will be closed.
From Monday 4 January, a number of buildings will open again for exams, for practice-based education and for students and staff who are not in a position to study or work from home. Details of exactly which buildings are open (e.g. for practicals) will follow as soon as possible.

From 4 January, the locations listed below will in any case be open to staff and students who are unable to work or study at home (as indicated above):

IT support

Students and staff who need IT support can make an appointment at one of the above locations from 4 January using this form: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/AvansHogeschool1683155@avans.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/

Borrowing books

Students can still borrow books from Xplora. They can do this by sending an email with details of the books they want to borrow to xplora@avans.nl. Xplora staff will retrieve the books and leave them with the facilities team for collection. You will receive an email as soon as they are ready.
